Dave Markowski

In my work as a photographer, I'm passionate about capturing that timeless moment so a great memory or feeling can last forever.  I just love being behind the camera.

I have always been fascinated with understanding everything technical. At 12 years old, I picked up a computer and learned everything from the inside out. When photography software came on the market, I learned that too. But it wasn’t until modeling in fashion that the camera caught my attention. After that, I decided to go to the other side of the lens. I now dedicate myself to capturing those special fleeting moments and since, the world has never looked the same. Photography shows you beauty in unexpected places and requires being highly creative and highly technical at the same time. I love the challenge of capturing each moment while balancing lighting, angle, and technical detail. I work closely with clients to be sure all needs and wants are covered at all times. My professional experience as a Senior IT Project Manager comes in handy for planning too.

In my time behind the camera, I have found that events, portraits and weddings are particular favorites of mine, but always enjoy the challenge of every shoot and getting exactly what my clients want.

My camera has captured musical performances, fashion events as well as corporate black tie events, Chicago nightlife venues, festivals and more. I have found that my previous experience as a musician and model allow for a unique perspective and insight on capturing music and fashion events. I regularly shoot at the House of Blues and the Aragon Ballroom for acts like Wireless Soul, Emilie Autumn and Mellow Jelly and many more.

Portrait photography can be used in a variety of ways – holiday card, profile image on LinkedIn, or a headshot for an interview. I have done them all, including corporate and fashion headshots as well as family portraits and family events.

Weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime special day, and I’m a romantic at heart – I enjoy seeing two people in love. I’ve shot engagement and wedding photography (and was even hired paparazzi for a bachelorette party.)

If you like what you see and want to learn more, I’d love to chat.
